WATCH: Playful manatee basks in Florida sun

FORT DESOTO (FOX 13) - The Florida weather is just warming up, and manatees seem to be on the move to enjoy the rising temperatures. 

Michael McCarthy was in his See Through Canoe near Fort DeSoto when he noticed a manatee was poking its nose above water and twirling around to bask in the sun. 

“It’s the snoot that makes it cute,” he wrote on the business’ Facebook page.

He says it appears they have moved out of their temporary “winter hangouts” and arriving at their “summer homes.”
