The FDA has announced new rules raising the minimum age for certain tobacco sales restrictions, further strengthening efforts to prevent underage access to tobacco products. These changes, effective September 30, 2024, build on the 2019 legislation that increased the federal minimum age for purchasing tobacco products from 18 to 21.
