Debby is bringing a lot of deep tropical moisture to the Southeast as it slowly weakens, according to FOX 13 News Meteorologist Jim Weber. Weber says a slow moving storm always means big rainfall totals.

FOX 13 chief meteorologist Paul Dellegatto has the latest on Tropical Storm Debby as a few rain bands continue moving through the Bay Area. The storm is now impacting northeast Florida along with coastal areas of Georgia and the Carolinas, where potentially catastrophic rainfall is expected.

According to FOX 13 News Meteorologist Jim Weber, Tropical Storm Debby is moving slowly as it works its way through southeastern Georgia. He says if it moves back off the coast over water, there is a chance that it could reintensify. There's also a tropical wave working its way into the Caribbean that is expected to stay well to our south, according to Weber.

FOX 13 Meteorologists are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Debby, which is expected to become at least a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall in the Big Bend Area. The Bay Area will begin feeling the outer rain bands of the storm on Sunday morning with the areas west of I-75 seeing the most impact. Tropical Storm Debby will bring heavy downpours to the area throughout the day on Sunday and into Monday morning. The storm is expected to stall out after making landfall, bringing heavy rain to the southeastern states throughout the week.

However, it is expected to bring rain to Florida. Nash notes that it is too early to pinpoint where the rain will fall because the system could strengthen or weaken, and its path is not set in stone. If the storm earns a name, it will be called Debby.
