1 person dead after semi-trucks collide on US 98: PCSO

LAKELAND, Fla. - One person is dead after two semi-trucks collided with each other along US 98, just north of Lakeland, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
What we know:
Deputies said the crash happened around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
At that time, it was reported that two semi-trucks collided, according to PCSO.
Deputies said one person was killed in the crash.
Officials say some hazardous materials may have spilled following the collision.
Traffic on US 98 is being re-routed, as the area around the crash is expected to be closed for several hours.
What we don't know:
It is still unknown if the other driver sustained any injuries, or if any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
