11-year-old girl hit by car after being dropped off by school bus in Hernando County: FHP
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - An 11-year-old girl is in the hospital after she was hit by a car after being dropped off by a school bus Tuesday afternoon in Hernando County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
What we know:
Troopers said the 11-year-old was walking northbound on Eskimo Curlew Road, north of Osprey Avenue, along an unpaved and unmarked road edge when she was hit.
A 65-year-old Brooksville woman who was driving a Toyota Corolla hit the child, officials with FHP said.

They said the crash happened after a school bus drop off.
The 11-year-old was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment, authorities said.
What we don't know:
FHP has not released the identities of the driver or the child involved in this crash.
