Clearwater police officer injured after bicyclist runs from traffic stop: CPD
CLEARWATER, Fla. - A Clearwater police officer was injured after giving chase to a bicyclist who ran away from an attempted traffic stop Saturday night, according to CPD.
Police said Omar Butler, 44, left his bicycle in the 1200 block of N Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and ran from the officer before jumping over a broken wooden fence.
The officer followed and suffered a large cut on his leg from the fence.

He was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, before being transferred to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The suspect was later arrested and charged with obstruction.
