Cold weather shelters open across Tampa Bay

As extremely cold air moves through the Tampa Bay area, county officials in the area are opening up cold weather shelters throughout the week.

The National Weather Service expects local temperatures to dip as low as 40 degrees or less when calculating in the wind chill.

Officials say the shelters are designated for the homeless or for those who live in homes without adequate heat.
