LAKELAND (FOX 13) - UPDATE: Florida Polytechnic University police say 23-year-old Ronny Rosario was found safe. No other details were provided.
EARLIER VERSION:
A Florida Polytechnic University student has not been seen since Monday, police say.
Police say 23-year-old Ronny Rosario was last seen by his roommate at 1 a.m. Monday. His sister reported him missing by Monday night after not hearing from him since Saturday, February 17.
Rosario did not show up to work on Tuesday and there has been no cell phone activity since early Monday morning, according to Florida Polytechnic University police.
It’s possible Rosario left campus on foot or other means since his vehicle is still parked at the Lakeland campus, police say.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office bloodhound unit and helicopter were used to search the campus, and a mounted unit will be used to check high brush areas on Wednesday.
Police describes Rosario as 6’3 feet tall, weighs 215 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Florida Polytechnic Police Department at (863) 874-8472, extension 2.
