iTREKKERS makes outdoor adventures more accessible

It's a perfect day on the water to fish, kayak and paddle board.

Linda Olson decided to take advantage of the weather and the scenery for some bonding time with her employees.

"Doing any kind of team building exercise is actually a good investment in your business and that's why we're doing this," said Olson.

The group signed up for an outdoor adventure with iTREKKERS.

"When a group is constantly in the office, people get run down. Allowing a business group to get outdoors allows them to relax, unwind and actually this is when you're the most creative," said iTREKKERS founder, Thomas Mulliez.

The company started as a passion project for him.

"I always thought it was so difficult to get outdoors when you're trying to find some type of guide and you're on vacation somewhere. Through all of my personal experiences,  either I had a fantastic experience outdoors or I had a really really really bad one," said Mulliez.

He wanted to make the outdoor experience more accessible for customers.

"Let's allow for people to really make awesome memories in the outdoors to provide simple easy access to vetted guides who can take them out on adventures such as fishing,  paddling,  hiking and camping," said Mulliez.

They strive to make the activities less intimidating for the novice, including camping.

"We essentially set everything up for you.  You show up with what you want to eat and drink and a sleeping bag. Literally,  the campsite,  the fire,  everything is set up for you," said Mulliez.

Guides say it's  a great way to stay connected while learning something new.

"I've had so many fathers and son, father, and daughter, mother and son outings with different parents and family members,  so it's an excellent way to get on the water if you want to have a conversation with someone. Best place to do it is on the water," said iTREKKERS guide Mathew Brewington.

And contributing Florida's tourism industry in the bigger picture.

"It allows people who are coming to Florida to actually enjoy Florida instead of just the beach and the parks.

There's much more of Florida to discover and that's where we come in", said Mulliez.
