Man accused of luring teen boys on Facebook, attacking them
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A 25-year-old man faces kidnapping and rape charges after police say he attacked two teenage boys.
Officers with the St. Petersburg Police Department arrested D'Andre Banks after they say he posed as a teenage girl on Facebook to lure teen boys on two separate occasions.
Detectives say Banks attacked his first victim on June 29. They say he posed as a teenage girl on Facebook and lured a 17-year-old boy to a house near MLK St. S and Paris Avenue South. He was allegedly armed with a handgun and threatened the boy before sexually assaulting him.
He attacked a second time on July 17. He again posed as a teen girl on Facebook and lured a 15-year-old boy to a vacant house at 1830 20th Street South. This time, detectives say the boy was able to escape unharmed.
Police detectives think Banks may have attacked other victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information about Banks or the alleged crimes is asked to call the St. Pete Police Department's non-emergency number at 727-893-7780 or text SPPD with a tip to TIP411.
Banks faces two counts of kidnapping and one count of sexual battery with a deadly weapon.
