Dozens of tons of marine life, killed by red tide, have been removed from beaches in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Manatee County says it needs help keeping the beaches as clean as possible – and it will pay you to do it.

Experts say removing dead fish from the beaches is essential to preventing red tide from getting worse.

Manatee County’s Property Management and Parks and Natural Resources Departments are in charge of keeping clean the beaches of Anna Maria Island, including Coquina, Anna Maria Bayfront, and Manatee County.

With so much area to cover, the county is hiring temporary workers to help clean the beaches during the red tide bloom.
