Missionary family located; Venice crew to fly to Bahamas to deliver supplies
VENICE, Fla. - Preparing to fly into devastation, Agape Flights pilot Jeff Yannucciello will take more than supplies with him to the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas. He's taking hope - in the form of 1,600 pounds of water, food, clothes, and rescue items to the islands, ravaged by Hurricane Dorian.
The crew was also on a mission to find a family from Tennessee who have been living in the Bahamas for the past three years. Thankfully, that family was able to reach out first.
The Luttrell family has lived in Marsh Harbour, on Great Abaco, with their seven children, working with the Caribbean Ministries Association. As Dorian hit they made one last call, saying the shutters were flying off their home.
Yannucciello and his crew were tasked with making contact with the family, but Monday night, the Luttrells were able to get word to their daughter that they were OK.
Meanwhile, the Agape Flights crew continues to take donations to take to the islands. They hope to get off the ground by Wednesday, but it all depends on conditions at the two airports.
