Nursing mothers and passengers with special needs now have access to a safe, private room in the St. Pete-Clearwater International (PIE) Airport.

PIE has opened its first Privacy Room for Moms in Gates 2-6, beyond the security checkpoints.

The airport says the room is conveniently located next to restrooms. Inside, you will find a comfortable recliner, table, electrical outlet, sanitary wipes, a bench for additional family seating, and a few toys to keep children entertained.

PIE says the room may be accessed with a secure access code, which can be obtained by calling the posted phone number.

The Privacy Room for Moms was designed and built by airport staff. PIE acknowledges it is an important amenity for our traveling moms.

Airport Director Tom Jewsbury said, “We wanted to offer a comfortable and private space for our moms and passengers with special needs. Next year, we will add another room in Gates 7-10 when our terminal renovation project is completed."
