Mother killed, 2 children injured in Pasco car accident

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a mother and injured her two children. 

The crash happened just after 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning on U.S. 41, according to troopers. 

The FHP says a vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Ryan Manley, was traveling northbound on U.S. 41 when it drifted into the southbound lane, hitting a car coming in the opposite direction. The accident did involve alcohol, according to a report released by troopers. 

The driver of the second vehicle, 30-year-old Shaita Guillory of Citrus Springs, died at the scene. Her two children were airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital where they remain in critical condition. Both were wearing seatbelts. 

Charges are pending.
