NEED FOR SPEED: Super Boats head to Clearwater

CLEARWATER (FOX 13) - Beachgoers feeling the need for speed this weekend can catch the Super Boat National Championship and Seafood Festival this weekend in Clearwater.

The festivities start Friday with the Super Boat International Parade at 6 p.m. along downtown Clearwater's Cleveland St. The parade culminates with a street part from 7-11 p.m.

Saturday, the Seafood Festival begins at 10 a.m. and people can get a glimpse of the boats timed trials, and a fireworks display after sunset. 

On Sunday, the boating championships begin at noon to include super boats that hit nearly 200 miles per hour on the water.

Shephard's Beach Resort is hosting the official Beach After Party starting at 4 p.m.
