Enticed by 50+ Lure Modules activated throughout the park and the hope of catching a rare Pokémon, gamers lined up at the gates to enter Busch Garden's Tampa Bay park for their Pokémon Go Lure-A-Thon event. Trainers were encouraged to wear their team colors and level up as many Pokémon as they could, Saturday.

The park used their social media accounts to give trainers insider tips and invited proud gamers to share their finds  for all to see. The event took place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. But according to their Facebook posts the Pokémon Go server was down for some time during the event.  There were rumors of a possible hack causing the issue.

"The app was down, unfortunately there's nothing Busch Gardens could have done to fix that but the excitement from our guests was apparent," said Busch Gardens spokesperson Karen Varga-Sinka. The day was such a success despite the server issue that Sinka said gamers should be on the lookout for an encore of the event coming in the future.
