Four puppies were abandoned and sick, but one month later, they are healthy and ready for adoption.

The pups were found in early December at the corner of a road not far from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. They have since been named, Merry, Joy, Noel and Nick.

They had mange, a skin infection which made them completely bald. The pit bull mixed pups had surgery on Wednesday and recovered throughout the day. Their hair continues to grow and is expected to fill out.

The Humane Society said all four have thrived in foster care and received daily coconut oil rubs, antibiotics and baths to help heal their skin. Their may be some special instructions for whoever adopts them.

"It won't be anything that isn't totally worth it," the shelter said during a Facebook live following their surgery, "because they are sweet babies."

All four will be available for adoption Thursday at noon. The shelter recommends anyone who is interested in adopting to arrive early, as they operate on a first-come, first basis, and they expect a long line. For adoption information, call (813) 774-4313.
