Deputies say they’ve arrested a Riverview woman who repeatedly tried to hit another driver in an apparent fit of road rage.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, it was just after 9:30 this morning when a woman – later identified as Deborah Marshall – approached a 50-year-old man along Lucky Gem Drive in Riverview.  Deputies say she acted “in a hostile manner” and began to “verbally abuse him for unknown reasons.”

The man, who said he’d never met Marshall, drove away to avoid the confrontation.  But she allegedly hopped in her car and followed him onto U.S. 301, repeatedly trying to hit him.

Eventually, the man called 911 and Marshall was arrested.  The 61-year-old faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
