The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival reopened at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday after being closed earlier in the day due to the threat of severe weather.

Organizers say the sculptures were not damaged by the storms that pummeled the Bay Area prompting tornado and thunderstorm warnings in the early afternoon.

The squall line brought heavy rain and winds, which caused delays at Tampa International Airport and knocked over a semi-truck in Tampa.
