Teen girl hit by car after getting off Pasco County school bus: Troopers
PORT RICHEY, Fla. - A 13-year-old getting off a school bus in Pasco County was injured after being hit by a car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
What we know:
Troopers said a 59-year-old Port Richey man was driving south on East Road in a Mercury sedan just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
As he drove down East Road near the intersection of Kodiak Avenue, the car hit the 13-year-old girl who was crossing the highway. FHP said a Pasco County school bus was stopped and offloading students with its signal lights on when the crash happened, but the driver failed to stop.
The 13-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to troopers.
What we don't know:
FHP has not said whether the driver was cited after the crash. No other information was immediately available.
