Rays designate Duffy for assignment, trade RHP De Leon

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rays have designated infielder Matt Duffy for assignment and traded pitcher Jose De Leon to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for a player to be named and cash.

The team also announced minor league infielder Curtis Mead was acquired in a trade that sent left-hander Cristopher Sanchez to the Philadelphia Phillies.

In addition, five prospects were added to the 40-man roster before Wednesday night's deadline.
