He says there are no signs of anything developing in the tropics over the next week. Eliasen adds that he thinks we will see fewer named storms than we have seen in the last three or four years due to wind shear tied to the developing El Nino. However, he cautions that if we get just one bad storm, it will be considered a bad year regardless of the number that form.
