Meteorologist Dave Osterberg says Tropical Storm Fiona will be a rainmaker for the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. It will eventually turn north and long-range computer models show it staying east of Florida -- but it's not 100% certain. It's still worth keeping an eye on if you live in the Sunshine State.

One day past the peak of hurricane season and there?s not much going on. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says there is a tropical system coming off the coast of Africa that has a 20% chance of developing over the next five days. Fiona would be the next named storm, but Sadiku says there are no signs of the happening anytime soon.

Saturday, September 10 is the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, but so far things have been fairly quiet. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says at this point there are no immediate tropical threats to the Sunshine State. Hurricane Earl is still out in the Atlantic as a category 2 storm, but Sadiku says it is having a tough time sustaining itself as it moves north in open waters. There is an area off the coast of Africa that has a 30 % chance of developing over the next five days. He adds that as you look across the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, things are looking good with no activity.

He is closely watching Tropical Storm Earl, which developed late Friday night as it moves north and west. However, like Danielle, it is not expected to impact the U.S.

Computer models show it heading to the west-northwest through the week before possibly turning away from the east coast of Florida. But it's too early to make that call.

Things are becoming more active in the tropics as we end the month of August. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says Danielle, which will be the next named storm may be developing soon. Sadiku says we could see a tropical depression develop in the Atlantic over the next five days, but it is not clear where it will head.

It?s been a fairly quiet hurricane season so far. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says it?s been 54 days since we?ve had a named storm. He says this is only the 5th time since 1950 that we had a quiet stretch this long. Sadiku is watching a tropical wave in the Caribbean that has a 20% chance of developing over the next five days. He is also watching a tropical wave in the Atlantic that is showing more promise in terms of potential development. It has a 30% chance of developing over the next five days. He says as we head into the peak of hurricane season we need to pay more attention to the tropics but there is no immediate threat to Florida.
