Remains found in mangroves identified as elderly woman missing since Hurricane Ian, Lee County sheriff says
82-year-old Ilonka Knes had been missing since Hurricane Ian destroyed her Fort Myers Beach home. Her husband's body had been found not long after the storm struck, but she remained missing for more than three months until workers clearing debris found her remains in a thicket of mangroves. She was one of two people still missing since the storm made landfall back in September.
