Horses for Handicapped Foundation serves its riders for free

Horses for Handicapped Foundation of Pinellas County has been around since 1981 in Seminole.

It was founded by the late Gene Harris as a Kiwanis project when he approached Girl Scout leader Mary Urquhart with his idea. To this day, they operate strictly on volunteer staff made up of community members from various organizations, including Kiwanis, Girl Scouts, 4-H, as well as many others.

They serve over 75 riders and horse lovers each week, absolutely free of charge, which is why they depend on so much donations from the community.
