Sailor Circus celebrates 70 years with spring performance

SARASOTA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Sailor Circus in Sarasota is celebrating 70 years in the business. 

“The Greatest ‘Little’ Show on Earth” is celebrating its 70th anniversary and this year’s annual spring performance showcase the history of the program and demonstrate how far it’s come. The show is called ‘Celebrate 70!’ and features traditional circus acts in keeping with its historic theme.

Sailor Circus is the longest-running youth circus in the country. Students train in over 30 disciplines of circus arts including high wire, flying trapeze, aerial skills, trampoline, roller-skating, acrobatics and more.

Schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties are represented by the best youth circus artists, some students training for almost a decade in their craft. This is the last weekend for the special anniversary show, with performances Thursday - Saturday.
