2017 fireworks schedule for Tampa Bay and Central Florida

TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay area is ready to celebrate Independence Day in style again this year. Here's the list, by community, of fireworks shows around Central Florida.

Most of the shows are on Tuesday, July 4. But some communities are holding events on July 3 so that employees can spend the holiday with their families; be sure to double-check the date for your town.

And don't forget that Florida's summertime storms can interfere with fireworks. If you're heading out, you may want to pack a raincoat or umbrella. And be sure to download the FOX 13 SkyTower Radar app so you can track the radar and get lightning alerts on your phone.

TAMPA (DOWNTOWN)

JULY 4: 2,500 wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis for access to the Channelside Bay Plaza Waterfront beginning at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m.

TAMPA YANKEES GAME

JULY 4: 7 p.m. July 4: Players and coaches wear special jerseys to be auctioned to benefit Everyday Heroes. Stick around after the game for fireworks. George M. Steinbrenner Field, 1 Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa.

PLANT CITY

JULY 4: The skies above Plant City will again fill with fireworks this July 4th.  Admission to the event is free with parking costing $5 per car.  The celebration will take place on Tuesday, July 4th at Plant City Stadium, 1810 East Park Road.  The parking lot gates open at 5:45 pm and the stadium gates will open at 6:00 pm. 

TEMPLE TERRACE

JULY 4: Temple Terrace Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks: Parade starts at the corner of Whiteway Drive and Gillette Avenue, moves south to Druid Hills, west to Ridgedale and south to the Temple Terrace Little League Field. Evening festivities kick off at 6 p.m. on the first fairway of the Temple Terrace golf course, with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

ST. PETERSBURG (DOWNTOWN)

JULY 4: Weather-permitting, fireworks set to begin around 9 p.m. July 4. Vinoy Park, 501 Fifth Ave. NE

CLEARWATER

JULY 4: The Wilson family joins the Coachman Park Pops Orchestra, followed by a fireworks display between 9 and 9:30 p.m. July 4. Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater.

JULY 1 & JULY 3: Postgame fireworks at Spectrum Field

ST. PETE BEACH

JULY 4: Fireworks show to begin around 9 p.m. July 4, launched from Upham Beach. For safety reasons, parts of Upham Beach will be closed beginning at 6 p.m. Gulf Boulevard and 68th Street, St. Pete Beach.

DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS GAME

JULY 3: The Dunedin Blue Jays take on Daytona at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 6:15 p.m. July 3. Fireworks after the game.

GULFPORT

JULY 4: Parade on Beach Boulevard begins at 6 p.m. July 4, with fireworks at 9 p.m.

LARGO

JULY 4: "Light Up the Park" tat Largo Central Park with a pie eating contest, T-shirt decorating ($5), inflatables ($10 wristband), food vendors and fireworks. 

MADERIA BEACH

JULY 4: Fireworks over Boca Ciega Bay, 9:15 p.m. 

TARPON SPRINGS

JULY 4: Fireworks to start at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. Best viewing is from Fred Howard Park.

SAFETY HARBOR

JULY 4: Children's activities, live entertainment, food vendors, and fireworks from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, or the city marina.

PORT RICHEY

JULY 4: The city will be hosting a fireworks display on Tuesday at approximately 9 p.m. Waterfront Park (8119 Old Post Road) is one of the best spots to view the fireworks.  The fireworks will be launched from a barge in Miller's Bayou. 

DADE CITY

JULY 4: Sparklebration returns to the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 S.R. 52 in Dade City. Admission $5. Kids 12 and under free; Parking $5.  Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

BROOKSVILLE

JULY 4: Celebrate America with fireworks and fun for the entire family at the Hernando County Fairgrounds. Music, games, a Kid Zone,  contests, food, and a Demolition Derby, while a colorful and sparkling fireworks display will top off the evening. Parking: $5; Admission for Demolition Derby: Adults, $10, children age 4-12, $5; under age 3, free.

INVERNESS

JULY 3: An evening of patriotism, fireworks and community at Liberty and Wallace Brooks parks overlooking Lake Henderson. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

BRADENTON

JULY 4: Fireworks are launched from a barge in the river about 9 p.m. or so.  The Green Bridge, aka Business U.S. 41 or 9th Street W in Bradenton, will be closed prior to start, so plan accordingly.

SARASOTA

JULY 4: Fireworks over Sarasota Bay start at 9 p.m. You can watch from Bayfront Park or from a boat in the bay.

SIESTA KEY

JULY 4: Fireworks on the beach start around 9 p.m., just north of the volleyball courts.  Watch from Crescent Beach or from the Intracoastal.

LAKELAND

JULY 3: Red, White & Kaboom will take place  at Lake Mirror from 6 to 9 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m.

AUBURNDALE

JULY 4: Come join us from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for a day full of music, fireworks and more at Lake Ariana Park. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

HAINES CITY

JULY 4: Thunder on the Ridge, Lake Eva Park: Food, beer, and cornhole starts at 3 p.m. Fireworks follow around 9:15 p.m.

WINTER HAVEN

JULY 3: Rock N' Freedom Fest 2017 features food, bounce houses, games, a live band, and fireworks.  Free.  6 to 9:30 p.m. at MLK Park on Lake Silver Drive NE.

LAKE WALES

JULY 4: The City of Lake Wales is hosting an Independence Day celebration on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Lake Wailes Park. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

BARTOW

JULY 4: Bartow's annual 4th of July Celebration will be held at Mosaic Park, beginning at 4 p.m. Live music, food vendors, games, and much more. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

AVON PARK

JULY 4: Fireworks are at Donaldson Park, 109 E. Main St. starting at 9 p.m.

SEBRING

JULY 4: Sebring’s Independence Day Celebration will be at City Pier Beach, 351 West Center Avenue from 9 to 9:30 p.m.
