$3,000 reward offered for info in violent Brandon robberies

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office needs help identifying two men who robbed a convenience store in Brandon at gunpoint.

Surveillance video showed a pair of masked men robbing the Circle K on Brandon Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

In the video, one of the suspects fires off a round to scare the clerk.  Eventually the suspect takes the entire cash register tray.

Matika Mueller has worked at this Circle K for about a year.

"It was scary. I was supposed to be here and she came and relieved me,” said Mueller. “It could have been me. Who knows what could've happened?”

Investigators believe it is the second time in two days the suspects have struck Brandon gas stations.

Deputies have also released video from the 7-11 on Kings Ave early Tuesday morning.  The two locations are just minutes apart.

"If you come across them while you're in the gas station, please don't try to go up the suspects, just call law enforcement," said HCSO spokesperson Cristal Bermudez Nunez. "Because these suspects - as you can see in both videos - aren't afraid to fire the weapon."

So far no one has gotten hurt, but deputies know the potential is there, and so do the clerks.

"I teared up this morning when I saw that,” said Mueller Wednesday evening. “That's just sad. I just hope it doesn't happen again and I hope justice is served."

Detectives are now offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case. If you know anything, call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
