Somersby, New South Wales - The Australian Reptile Park welcomed a koala joey at its zoo on the New South Wales (NSW) Central Coast on June 30.

“We’re so excited to introduce you to someone very special! Meet Anna the koala joey – Elsa’s first little sister!” the Australian Reptile Park posted to Facebook.

The announcement of the new koala joey coincides with the release of a NSW parliamentary inquiry into koala populations, which found the marsupials are on track to become extinct by 2050.
