Busy road in St. Pete could be closed for days after water pipe breaks, police say
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Crews in St. Petersburg are working to repair a broken water pipe that's blocking the northbound lanes of 66th St. North.
Police say an 8-inch pipe broke just north of the intersection of 66th St. North and Tyrone Blvd. shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday.
All northbound lanes of 66th St. North are closed between Tyrone Blvd. and 26th Ave. North, with police saying it could take two days to finish repairing the pipe and restoring the roadway.
Crews in St. Petersburg are working to repair a broken water main that's blocking the northbound lanes of Tyrone Blvd.
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes until the work is complete.
City officials say there are no interruptions to water service.
