Brooksville man on way to court busted for driving recklessly with toddler in car: HCSO

A Brooksville man who deputies say had an upcoming court date for speeding has been charged with reckless driving. 

The backstory:

According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Mariner Boulevard and Quintara Street last week said he saw a green Chevrolet Camaro traveling at a high rate of speed. 

According to the deputy, he clocked the suspect going 80 mph in a 45 mph zone. 

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy pulled over Matthew Aaron Cuesta, who had a toddler not properly restrained in a child car seat.

Cuesta told the deputy that he was on his way to court and also had an upcoming court date for speeding. 

Cuesta was arrested and charged with reckless driving.
