Canada immigration website goes down during US election

As voters made their voices heard on election day in the United States, the website for information about how to move to Canada crashed late Tuesday night.

The site,, went down around 11:15 pm EST Tuesday. As of 1 a.m. Wednesday, the site was still down with a 'Connection reset by peer' message greeting potential visitors.

It appears that United States citizens who threatened to move to Canada if Donald Trump would the nomination are making good on that promise. And if you try the website - that's down too.

Of course - there's no real evidence that an onslaught of distraught voters caused the website to crash. However, given the number of people who posted on social media that they would move if their candidate didn't win the election, it leads one to believe that it's possible.
