Car ends up in water after Polk crash, one dead

WINTER HAVEN (FOX 13) - At least one person was injured in a crash in Polk County Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. on southbound Highway 27 near Lucerne Park Road.
According to officials, two vehicles were involved. The crash caused one car to cross the median and the northbound lanes, before landing in a small body of water off the roadway.
One person was pulled from the vehicle in the water. The victim, 26-year old Hakeem
McGhee of Winter Haven was airlifted to Lakeland Regional with serious injuries and later died.
Highway 27 is expected to remain closed for a few hours.
