Clearwater Fire & Rescue workers respond to two incidents at Super Boat Race

Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department responded to two separate incidents at the Clearwater Beach Super Boat Races, Sunday.

According to responders, one of the speed boats competing in the offshore boat races flipped and two injured patients had to be taken to Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg for treatment.

In an unrelated incident, just after 1 p.m., a woman was pulled from the water after having what seemed to be a seizure, according to officials. They said the woman was swimming near a spectator boat when she suffered the seizure. She, too, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
