Could Florida get snow? Winter storm warnings, watches issued for part of the state
TAMPA, Fla. - Part of Florida is under a Winter Storm Warning and more areas are under a Winter Storm Watch as another blast of cold air moves over the state, bringing chilly temperatures and more rain to the Tampa Bay area this week.
The warning is in effect for Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties in the Florida Panhandle, while the watch extends as far south as Alachua County.

First, it's important to note that it is not expected to snow anywhere in the Tampa Bay area.
FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg says about an inch of snow is possible, along with sleet, in the Florida Panhandle from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

"Ice is the worst," Osterberg said. "So I-10 is going to be a major issue driving Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning."

Osterberg says it will be breezy and chilly Monday with highs only reaching the mid-50s.

Temperatures may not reach 60 degrees all week until Saturday, just in time for the Gasparilla Pirate Fest in Tampa.
Morning lows will stay in the 30s and 40s over the next several days.
As for cold rain, Osterberg says that will start early Tuesday with more moving through in the afternoon. The heaviest rain, however, could fall on Wednesday morning before moving out of the region.
It's not over for the week, though, as Osterberg says there's another chance of showers on Thursday.
"This is not a great week around here weather-wise," Osterberg said. "I'm just being honest."
What's next:
Warmer temperatures could be back during the latter part of this coming weekend, with 70s possible on Sunday.
