Cuban boy's dream becomes reality in Moreno Bakery
BRANDON (FOX 13) - A dream that started in Cuba became a reality in America. Jose and Susan Moreno are the driving force behind Moreno Bakery in Brandon.
Jose aspired to open his own bakery when he was just a little boy in Cuba.
"I grew up in the bakery. I was playing with dough and making bread when I was very little," said Jose.
He came to America to pursue his passion. The couple said they sacrificed to open their first bakery at a 2,500 square foot storefront eight years ago.
"It was saving money and not always taking a vacation when you wanted to take a vacation", said Susan.
The business took off. Within a few years time, the couple moved the bakery to a 10,000 square foot space. Along with baked goods, the bakery also offers hot food for dining.
"We've been able to create something far superior than what we could have dreamed of", said Susan.
Moreno Bakery is located at 737 W. Brandon Blvd.
