Deputies: Woman left dogs in hot car
DADE CITY (FOX 13) - Deputies arrested a Dade City woman who they say left her two dogs in a hot car Thursday afternoon.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found two dogs left in a vehicle parked outside a home on Willingham Drive.
“The doors were closed and locked with just 4 inches of space open at the truck in an area out of reach from the dogs,” a sheriff’s office report explained.
Deputies stayed with the dogs for an hour and arrested Shirley Anne Robinson on animal cruelty charges when she returned. She told deputies that she had been away charging her phone.
A deputy measured the temperature at 96 degrees in the vehicle.
