Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis gave remarks at the 2025 Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference on Tuesday in Orlando.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered remarks at the 2025 Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference in Orlando on Tuesday morning.
This year's event was held at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.

During his speech, the Florida governor highlighted the state's strong support for law enforcement through policies, financial incentives, and tough crime laws.
DeSantis also emphasized Florida’s leadership in managing immigration enforcement and deportations efficiently – pointing to deportation flights leaving from Alligator Alcatraz, the state's immigration detention center in the Everglades.
He concluded by praising the state's low crime rates and law enforcement dedication, encouraging continued collaboration on future technology and policy issues.

‘We’re very,, very fortunate to have a great cadre of sheriffs. We're very fortunate that you're upholding the culture of Florida to be a law and order state," DeSantis said.
"If you don't have folks that are hard chargers, that are putting themselves on the line to be able to support their fellow residents and their communities, then it ain't going to amount to very much. So you guys have stepped up. You guys have answered the call. And our 50-year low crime rate is a testament to that," he added.
