Entangled loggerhead sea turtle rescued by FWC biologists

As wildlife officials ventured out in the water near the Florida Keys they came across an entangled sea turtle.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers were expected to do a day of research diving at some sites, but then noticed a loggerhead sea turtle wrapped up in two crab trap lines. It was wrapped around one flipper and its neck.

In video released by the agency, the biologists were seen working patiently – and quickly – to cut the traps off.

The turtle was freed, and swam away.
