Fake contractors steal home appliances from Odessa home, deputies say
ODESSA (FOX 13) - Deputies are searching for two unknown men who posed as contractors, but ended up stealing new appliances from a home under construction, they said.
On Saturday, around 1:30 p.m., the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said two Hispanic men walked into the home on Lyon Pine Lane in the Starkey Ranch area of Odessa. They said they pretended to be contractors as they loaded a Whirpool dishwasher and stove into the back of their black Ford F-150. When they were confronted, they drove away.
The agency shared surveillance video showing the suspected vehicle. When turning a corner, one appliance is seen toppling out of the back of the pickup truck. The truck was seen reversing and colliding with the appliance. The suspects placed it back into the truck and fled.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on the suspects’ identity or if someone attempts to sell you a damaged appliance, to contact the agency at 1-800-706-2488.
