Father shows infant daughter they share the same 'heartbeat' as she battles rare illness
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (FOX 13) - As the old saying goes, like father, like daughter. In this case, the daughter is 7-month-old Opal Rose.
According to FOX News, Opal is at the Oklahoma Blood Institute, recovering from acute flaccid myelitis, a rare but serious neurological disease. It specifically affects the area of the spinal cord called “gray matter,” which can cause the body’s muscles and reflexes to weaken.
In a video, her father, Josh Trimble, shows Opal that he’s always with her and that they “share a heartbeat” by thumping his chest. Opal responds by thumping her chest too. The Oklahoma Blood Institute shard the family’s video on Facebook.
