A well-known alligators trapper died in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning.

John Wilson was on his way to work when he lost his life.

"It is going to be tough," said his former boss and friend, MIckey Fagan.

Wilson managed Fagan's Alligator Farm in Dade City. He was also contracted with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

"Just shocked," Fagan told FOX 13. "He didn't deserve this."

Wilson was driving his truck north on Otis Allen Road. The driver of a Mustang was traveling east on Old Lakeland Highway.

Investigators say the Mustang went through a stop sign and the two vehicles collided.

The Mustang hit a fence. Wilson's truck rolled.

Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt. His friends say he was 52.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. They said charges were pending.
