Firefighter flown to hospital following accident

SUN CITY CENTER (FOX 13) - A Hillsborough County firefighter had to be airlifted to the hospital following an accident Tuesday evening. 

Fire officials say a crew from Fire Station 28 was heading to a call around 5:30 p.m. when he received the injures.

A spokesperson for the department said the injury was accidental and involved a trauma to the body, though would elaborate any further. 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
