How about a 12-gauge shotgun to go along with your diamond necklace?

Look no further than Downtown Goldsmith & Engraving and 2nd Amendment  Firearms, two stores located in DeLand, Fla.

“I noticed the sign as we went by and I thought, 'Wow. Buy her a diamond, get a free 12-gauge shot gun. Huh- what a deal',” said shopper Cynthia Rodriguez.

The DeLand stores, which share a building, are giving a whole new meaning to the term “shotgun wedding,” luring in customers with a free shotgun with their jewelry purchase.

“So anything in that particular case- you buy it, you get a, Savage 12 Gauge Pump Action Shotgun,” said owner Jesse Czerok.

The free shotgun is worth about $270, and the eligible jewelry purchases range from pearls, to diamonds and gem stones between $450 and $4000.

“This kind of gives the guy an incentive to purchase a piece of jewelry for his wife, or vice versa. We’ve sold a couple of gentlemen’s rings and the wives got the shotgun,” Czerok said.

This is their third year running the promotion, and this year, about 10 customers have already bought-in to the idea.

“It’s a good way to entice the men into the jewelry store, because usually they see jewelry and they run the other way, so if that’s get you in to get the lady her diamond- why not,” Rodriguez said.

And if you can’t take advantage of the promotion this Christmas, they’re also  offering the same deal on Valentine’s day.
