For second day, Zephyrhills skydiver injured in hard landing
ZEPHYRHILLS (FOX 13) - For the second day in a row, a skydiver at Skydive City in Zephyrhills hit the ground harder than expected.
Pasco fire rescue reports the patient was airlifted to a nearby hospital as a trauma alert.
No one at Skydive City wanted to make any official statements, only saying the person was an experienced jumper with many years under their belt.
Wednesday, a 25-year-old jumper was also airlifted to the hospital after a hard landing. That person was also said to be a seasoned jumper.
According to the United States Parachute Association skydiving remains a relatively safe activity. The USPA says there were 21 deadly accidents in 2016 out of 3.2 million jumps.
