Government websites in 2 local counties hacked

FLORIDA (FOX 13) - Both the Manatee and Citrus County Property Appraiser’s websites have been taken offline after an apparent hack. 

Before they were taken offline, text on the website indicated that Iranian hackers were responsible.

The pages had been replaced with 2 images and writing in Arabic.

We have reached out to both counties but have not heard back from either at this point.
