'Kitten season' puts stress on Tampa shelters

In the winter, SPCA Tampa Bay gets one or two new kittens a day. In the summer? "We've got up to 20 kittens arriving every single day, and more adult cats arriving as well this time of year," adoption counselor Marissa Woods said. "It is kitten season nationwide right now, so everywhere around the country there are a lot of kittens being born and shelters are really full of kittens and adult cats right now."
