Lakeland girl receives grand tour at police department

Officer Madylin is reporting for duty!

Actually, Madylin is six, but decided to dress up as a police officer for career day at McKeel Academy Central in Lakeland. When the Lakeland Police Department learned she wanted to visit the station and meat a real officer, the agency said they were “filled with pride to see this pint-size future female officer in full uniform.”

Madylin and her sister, Kylie, 7, received the grand tour. They met with police officers who showed them their bulletproof vests and offices. They even gave Madylin the keys to the holding cells for a glimpse. She walked into the cell, but placed her head in her hands and walked right out.

Chief Larry Giddens took the time to greet the sisters as well, and the agency shared an adorable video of their day at the police department.

“Officer Madylin would make any day brighter! Watch and let your heart smile,” the agency posted on Facebook.
