The McDonald's Texas panhandle account posted a photo of the sweet potato fries to Twitter.

McDonald's is testing sweet potato fries at select restaurants in Texas.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s told CNN the fries are being tested at some "Create Your Taste" restaurants in Amarillo, which allow customers to customize their burgers from 39 ingredients.

"We’re gathering valuable customer feedback on them," the spokesperson told CNN.

McDonald's Twitter account for 29 Texas Panhandle locally-owned locations tweeted this week about sweet potato fries.

The sweet potato fries will be sold in a 16 ounce size and reportedly sell for an average of $2.49.
