MMA fighter turns tables on attacker in Florida

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (STORYFUL) - A would-be attacker picked the wrong guy to mess with in West Palm Beach, Florida.

A video shows an attacker being pinned to the ground by a former professional MMA fighter, according to reporting from the Sun Sentinel.

Jose Cortes, an employee at Ultima Fitness Downtown, said the man tried to attack him from behind on Datura Street, not far from his place of work.

Cortes grabbed the man’s wrist and slammed him to the ground, where he was pinned until police arrived, the Sun Sentinel said, adding that a police report indicated the man had just robbed a nearby restaurant.

Cortes told Storyful that he asked a bystander to record the encounter with a phone to prove that he did not harm the man.
